Choosing between an upper or lower night guard comes down to personal preference, as both provide the same level of protection.
Approximately 80% of our customers opt for an upper night guard, as they find it fits better, feels more comfortable, and is easier to remove. Since upper teeth are larger, upper guards tend to offer a more secure fit, and they are simpler to take off by lifting the lip. However, some customers prefer lower guards because they come into less contact with the tongue and feel less noticeable. A lower guard may also be a better option if you have missing teeth or extensive dental work on your upper teeth.
While wearing two night guards simultaneously isn’t recommended, many customers purchase both upper and lower guards to determine which works best for them.
